Product design, the app, the backend, the infrastructure, the App Store submission, and the bill afterwards. We are two people working AI-assisted, with developers we bring in when a job needs more hands — which is how a studio this size covers all of it. kudo.kids went from an empty repository to live on the App Store in about twenty weeks, serves around 50 active users today, and runs for roughly $2.30 a month.
All four are kudo.kids, measured September 2026. 145 test files behind it — 126 unit specs and 19 end-to-end. The cost is the whole stack: Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront and Route 53.
Five shapes of engagement. Most conversations start as the second one.
You describe what should exist. We do the product design, the app, the backend, the infrastructure, the store listing and the submission. kudo.kids is the worked example — empty repository to live on the App Store.
The most common version of this call. There is a codebase, the person who wrote it is gone, and nobody knows what it costs to run. We read it, write down what is actually there, and tell you what finishing it would take — before you commit to finishing it.
We set up the pipeline we use on our own products against your repository and your tests: issue in, branch, implement, test, merge on green, stop on red. Your engineers review the policy rather than every diff. The value is in the gates, not the model.
A publishing pipeline for your business accounts: one photo in, and the website, Instagram and Facebook all update together. Plus the ad side — click-to-message campaigns built through the Marketing API. We built exactly this for OC Design 949.
Someone has to own the bill, the certificates, the store renewals and the 3am page. On our own products that is us. It can be us on yours.
On the ads: everything our tooling creates is created paused. A campaign, its ad set and every ad are built with delivery off, and only a person switching them on in Ads Manager spends a cent. That is deliberate — a script that can start spending your money on its own is a script you cannot safely run.
It does not mean we will put a chatbot in your product. If that is what you want we will build it, but it is not what we are selling.
kudo.kids has no language model in it. Nothing in the shipped app calls an AI service — the tutoring content is written by hand, question by question. We mention it because “AI app” has become a claim people make loosely, and we would rather you heard the distinction from us than went looking for it.
What is AI-assisted is the way the work gets done. We run a pipeline that takes one written-down issue at a time, hands it to a fresh agent session with the repository and the project’s own conventions, requires a test, runs the whole suite, and merges to production only on green. If the suite fails, a second session gets the failure log and nothing else. If it still fails, or there is a merge conflict, the queue stops and waits for a human.
That pipeline has landed 232 changes on kudo.kids across 115 distinct issues. 63 went through a pull request; 169 the agent merged directly once the suite was green. We wrote the gates. The agent works inside them.
This is why a studio this size can quote you a whole product rather than a part of one. It is also why the estimate arrives with the infrastructure cost attached — when the people writing the Lambda are the people paying the bill, the bill tends to stay small.
The loop in full, and the four places it does not help →
Two businesses, each run at full engagement scope. One is an iOS app with a cloud backend, taken from an empty repository to the App Store. The other is a positioning problem turned into a brand, a live site, a publishing pipeline and an ad campaign for a construction consultancy. We own both, so no invoice changed hands — everything else about them is the same work we would do for you.
A family chore app a parent can trust with their kid’s photos, built and run for about the price of a coffee a month.
A construction consultancy needed a position, a face and a publishing pipeline. It got all three in a month — and the pipeline is one photo in, three channels out.
Tell us what you want to exist, roughly when, and roughly what it is worth to you. If you already have code, a repository link is worth more than a description. We reply to everything within a working day.
